Chunnambar beach in Ariyankuppam, Pondicherry, Tamilnadu

Chunnambar beach is a perfect picnic spot.  Chunambar is a famous beach resort located in Ariyankuppam about 7kms from Pondicherry and on the route to Cuddalore.  Chunnambar is a place where tourists can go fishing, trekking, rowing and have loads of fun.  When it comes to scenic beauty, this place doesn’t lack anything.  On one side, a long seashore named as” Plage Paradiso” and on the other, calm backwaters.

One can meditate, paint, read a novel, listen to music or even stay overnight, all on the top of a tree.  The three tops of Chunnambar are Sunrise panorama, Palm house and Nest bird.  And offers visitors the bliss of ecotourism.  From Panorama sunrise one can view the backwater up to its mouth, on the other hand Palm house overlooks the artificial pond and park and  Nest bird is the perfect above for the adventure loving folks; it has a rope ladder that leads to a small balcony.  The natural beauty of the place have helped in converting this place into one of the most desirable tourist destinations in this part of the world.

Air :

The nearest airport is Chennai with both domestic and international terminus.

Rail :

The nearest railway junction is at Chennai.  And the nearest railway stations are at Cuddalore and Pondicherry.  Cuddalore railway station is connected from Chennai via Villupuram.  Only few trains are available from Pondicherry railway station which runs between Pondicherry and Villupuram.

Road :

There are regular bus services from Cuddalore and Pondicherry to this beach.
